Oilerie Balsamic Strawberries: Submitted by: Curt | Date Added: December 3rd 2009
Listed in: Fruit
Ingredients

2 pints Strawberries
4 to 6 teaspoons sugar
3 to 4 Tablespoons Oilerie 25 year old Balsamic vinegar

Cooking Instructions

The berries may be sliced and sugared up to a day in advance. However the vinegar should be applied within
30 minutes of serving.

Clean the strawberries by wiping them with a damp paper towel. Avoid
washing them directly in water as this dilutes the flavor of the berries.
Hull the strawberries, and halve or slice them. Place the berries in a bowl and sprinkle with sugar.
Cover tightly with plastic wrap and allow to sit for several hours. Gently stirring every so often.
If you plan you plan on letting then sit for more than 3 hours, they should be refrigerated. Drizzle with Balsamic vinegar within a half hour of serving at room temperature. Delicious served over vanilla ice cream.
